CONTROL THE SYSTEM
FROM THE PANEL UP.
The control panel is the electrical centre behind the machine.
TM Engineering designs and builds industrial control panels around the application — combining electrical engineering, component selection, panel manufacturing and practical factory experience.
With more than 1,000 control panels built over the years, the team works across everything from individual machine panels to larger industrial automation systems.
BUILT OVER THE YEARS
EVERYTHING THE MACHINE
NEEDS TO THINK,
MOVE AND RESPOND.
A control panel brings the electrical and automation components behind a machine into one engineered system.
Depending on the application, a panel may house PLCs, HMIs, variable speed drives, contactors, terminals, switchgear, safety components and other control hardware required to operate and protect the machinery.
The panel is where the machine's control logic, electrical distribution and field equipment come together.
ENGINEERED BEFORE
IT IS WIRED.
Where required, TM Engineering can start with the application itself. The engineering team develops the electrical design, prepares EPLAN drawings, defines the required control architecture and specifies the components needed for the project.
Once the design is approved, the project can move into component sourcing, panel manufacture, wiring, programming, testing and commissioning.
ELECTRICAL
DESIGN
Electrical drawings and system layout developed around the machine or process.
SELECT THE
HARDWARE
PLC, HMI, drives, switchgear, sensors and control components selected for the application.
BUILD THE
PANEL
Component mounting, internal wiring and panel construction according to the approved design.
PLC & HMI
PROGRAMMING
Machine logic and operator-interface programming completed where required.
CHECK THE
SYSTEM
Panel and control-system checks before the equipment moves to final integration.
MAKE IT WORK
ON SITE.
Connect, test and commission the completed panel as part of the machine or wider automation system.
ALREADY HAVE
THE DESIGN?
WE CAN BUILD FROM IT.
Not every project needs to begin with TM Engineering's design team.
OEMs, machine builders and customers can provide their own electrical drawings or panel specifications for manufacture.
TM Engineering can build the panel to the supplied design, install the required components and complete the internal wiring ready for integration into the machine or wider system.
THE PANEL SHOULD FIT
THE MACHINE — NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.
Every machine has different operating requirements. TM Engineering builds the control system around what the machinery actually needs to do — selecting the appropriate PLC, HMI, drives, sensors, switchgear and supporting components for the application.
BAKERY
MACHINERY
Control systems engineered around ovens, provers, production equipment and bakery automation.
PACKAGING
LINES
PLC, HMI, drive and machine-control systems for filling, labelling, sealing and packaging applications.
CONVEYOR
SYSTEMS
Control architectures for motor-driven movement, sequencing and integrated conveyor applications.
MINING
APPLICATIONS
Industrial control panels built around demanding machinery, process and automation requirements.
BESPOKE
MACHINERY
When the application does not fit an off-the-shelf control architecture, the panel is specified around the motors, gearboxes, sensors and operating requirements of the project.
THE HARDWARE BEHIND
THE CONTROL.
PLC
The machine's operating logic.
HMI
Operator visibility and control.
VSD / DRIVE
Speed and motor control.
SWITCHGEAR
Electrical switching and protection.
CONTACTORS & RELAYS
Machine switching and control.
SAFETY COMPONENTS
Safety relays, interlocks and machine protection.
TERMINALS & DISTRIBUTION
Structured connections between the panel and field equipment.
SENSORS & FIELD DEVICES
Inputs that tell the control system what is happening.
BUILD THE SYSTEM
FROM THE GROUND UP.
For new machinery, automation projects, machine upgrades or specialised applications.
KEEP THE MACHINE.
MODERNISE THE CONTROL.
Existing panels can be re-engineered when components become obsolete, unreliable or no longer meet the needs of the machine.
TM Engineering has carried out full panel refurbishments for industrial equipment including ovens, provers and bakery machinery.
THE PANEL DOESN'T WORK
IN ISOLATION.
A finished control panel still needs to communicate with the machinery around it.
TM Engineering can integrate the panel with PLCs, HMIs, motors, drives, sensors, safety systems and other field equipment, then connect and commission the completed system on site.
That allows the panel to form part of a wider turnkey project rather than simply being delivered as a standalone enclosure.
PANEL SYSTEM ACTIVE
BUILT OVER THE YEARS
BUILT OVER YEARS.
BUILT FOR INDUSTRY.
TM Engineering's panel-building capability has developed alongside decades of work inside factories and industrial environments.
The team has built well over 1,000 control panels over the years, supported by dedicated panel-building capability and engineers who can work from customer drawings or internally developed electrical designs.
The result is panel engineering informed not only by what works on paper — but by what has to work on the factory floor.
