OUR
WORK.
Technical capability is easier to trust when you can see what was actually designed, built, programmed, repaired, upgraded and commissioned.
From individual machine problems to complete automation projects, this is engineering applied on the factory floor.
REAL PROJECTS.
REAL ENGINEERING.
From factory-wide PLC migrations and control-panel builds to machine refurbishments, safety upgrades and difficult fault-finding projects, this is TM Engineering at work.
Select a project below to explore the engineering, technologies and project images behind the work.
Siemens S7-300 to S7-1500 Migration
Modernising a factory-wide Siemens control environment from legacy S7-300 technology to the S7-1500 platform.
The project includes migration from Siemens S7-300 to S7-1500 PLCs, upgrading drive communications from PROFIBUS to PROFINET, installing and commissioning Danfoss variable speed drives, developing custom PLC function blocks and migrating and optimising the existing software.
The objective is a more supportable automation platform with improved communications, diagnostics and long-term component availability.
Bakery Control Panels
A suite of industrial control panels engineered for bakery production equipment and automated processes.
The panels incorporate Siemens S7 PLC technology, Siemens SINAMICS and G120 variable speed drives, contactors, circuit protection and structured wiring.
PROFINET networking connects drives and PLCs across the system, providing an integrated control architecture for the bakery production environment.
Vegetable Polisher / Potato Washer – Panel Build, PLC & HMI Programming
A complete industrial automation project taken from electrical design through to on-site commissioning.
TM Engineering completed the electrical design, panel build, PLC and HMI programming, installation and commissioning for the system.
The automation includes manual and automatic operation, variable-speed motor control, operator access levels, safety interlocks, alarms and fault diagnostics, sensor integration, start-up sequencing and real-time monitoring.
VFFS Sachet Machine Refurbishment
When the machine still has mechanical value but the original control technology has reached the end of its life.
The original PLC failed without a usable backup program. Rather than relying on an ageing control platform, the machine sequence had to be understood and the control system rebuilt.
The work involved mapping sensors, actuators and drives, reconstructing the machine sequence and recreating the feeding, sealing and cutting cycles on a modern control platform.
Control Panel Design & Build
Industrial control panels designed and manufactured around the machine, process and operating requirement.
TM Engineering builds control panels incorporating PLCs, HMIs, VSDs, safety relays, switchgear, contactors, circuit protection and complete internal wiring.
The capability extends from compact machine-control panels to larger multi-section industrial systems, with panel building, testing and on-site commissioning forming part of the wider engineering capability.
Bakery Facility – MESS Safety Upgrade, Machine Refurbishment & PLC/HMI Programming
A wider bakery-facility project combining machine safety, control-system modernisation and machinery refurbishment.
The work included safety-system upgrades incorporating safety circuits, emergency-stop functionality, machine guarding and interlocking, together with control-panel and electrical refurbishment.
PLC and HMI work included Siemens and Mitsubishi platforms, giving operators modern machine control, alarm and diagnostic functionality while integrating the upgraded machines into the production environment.
Siemens Projects
Siemens PLC and automation work across industrial machinery, control systems and production environments.
TM Engineering works with Siemens control technology for programming, diagnostics, fault finding, upgrades, system integration and commissioning.
The objective is always the same: understand the machine, interrogate the control system and engineer the practical route to reliable operation.
Allen-Bradley Projects
Industrial PLC support where understanding the machine matters as much as understanding the controller.
TM Engineering works with Allen-Bradley control systems as part of its multi-platform PLC capability, including programming, troubleshooting, machine fault finding and system integration.
Engineers can interrogate the PLC logic and machine signals to help establish where a process is breaking down and determine the engineering response required.
Mitsubishi Projects
Modern systems or vintage control hardware — the job still starts with understanding the machine.
One documented Mitsubishi project involved a legacy FX64 PLC where even gaining access to the controller required sourcing the correct programming connection.
Once online, the PLC could be interrogated, faults resolved and improvements made to the control algorithm, allowing the machine-control problem to be addressed rather than simply replacing hardware blindly.
Delta Projects
PLC fault finding is often about finding one piece of logic that is preventing the rest of the machine from doing its job.
In one Delta PLC project, a barcode inspection system correctly identified a carton without a label but then stopped the entire machine instead of completing the rejection cycle and continuing production.
The PLC sequence was investigated and the timer logic corrected so the rejection cycle could reset correctly and the machine could continue running.
