KEEP THE MACHINE.
UPGRADE WHAT MAKES IT WORK.
Older machinery does not always need to be replaced.
When PLCs, HMIs, control panels or electrical components become obsolete, unreliable or difficult to support, TM Engineering can assess the machine and engineer a practical upgrade path.
From individual control components to a complete electrical refurbishment, the objective is simple: retain the machinery that still has value and modernise the systems that control it.

MODERNISE WHAT DOESN'T.
GIVE EXISTING MACHINERY
A NEW CONTROL SYSTEM.
Machine refurbishment can range from targeted electrical repairs to a complete rebuild of the machine's control system.
TM Engineering can assess existing panels, wiring, electrical components and controls, then determine what can remain and what needs to be replaced or redesigned.
The team has carried out full panel refurbishments for industrial equipment including ovens, provers and other production machinery, as well as wider refurbishment projects inside manufacturing environments.
REPLACE THE OBSOLETE.
KEEP THE MACHINE WORKING.
Older industrial machinery can become increasingly difficult to support when the original electronics or control hardware are no longer readily available.
Rather than replacing the entire machine, TM Engineering can retrofit modern control technology where appropriate.
This may include replacing outdated PLCs, HMIs, drives or control components, rebuilding the panel and re-engineering the operating logic around the existing machinery.
The team has also worked on older machines where the original control equipment was no longer practical to support, replacing the legacy control system with new PLC and HMI technology.
PLC
UPGRADES
Replace ageing or unsupported controllers.
HMI
UPGRADES
Modernise the operator interface.
CONTROL PANEL
REBUILDS
Replace outdated electrical and control hardware.
AUTOMATION
UPGRADES
Re-engineer machine logic and operating sequences where required.
AN UPGRADE ISN'T FINISHED
UNTIL THE MACHINE RUNS.
Once the refurbishment or retrofit is complete, the updated equipment needs to work as one system.
TM Engineering can install the upgraded controls, connect the machine, program the PLC and HMI where required, test the operating sequence and commission the finished system on site.
The goal is not simply to deliver new components. It is to leave the machine operating according to the agreed requirement.
BEFORE YOU REPLACE THE MACHINE,
LET'S SEE WHAT CAN BE UPGRADED.
Tell us what the machine does, what is becoming difficult to maintain and which parts of the control system are causing the problem.
TM Engineering can assess the existing equipment and help determine a practical refurbishment, retrofit or control-system upgrade path.
